On a personal note, Jim Tobin was born and spent his formative years in Huntington, WV, and was drafted immediately after high school into the U.S. Navy and served four years.  During his tour of service he was stationed on two aircraft carriers – USS Franklin D. Roosevelt and the USS Saratoga out of Jacksonville, Florida.  Upon discharge from the U.S. Navy he first attended Jacksonville University and then the University of Florida where he became a lifelong Gator and along the way he majored in business administration. Jim Tobin has two children – a son and daughter – as well as four grandchildren.
